Humanities Department Head English & History Teacher/Mentor
Lindy Gillette was born in the USA, educated in Europe, and lived for over 20 years in Shanghai and Hong Kong. She has a MA in History and a post-graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Lindy has worked for more than 17 years as a History teacher and tutor on three continents. She is certified to teach in New York State, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and The Netherlands. She is a passionate teacher and believes that international and cultural viewpoints are important for students, wherever they are living. She has experience with IB DP and AP US History. Her son started City College (CUNY) this year and her daughter is a sophomore at E.Murrow High School in Brooklyn. Lindy loves to travel and spent time in Amsterdam and Paris this past Summer. She loves reading travel literature and is trying to learn what it means to be American.
