EVENT - Fostering Presence for Therapists & Educators: Using Self Care to Be Present
6/27/2018 8:30 am – 11:00 am | Campus Events
Fusion Academy and The Centered Practice are excited to bring mental healthcare professionals together around the powerful topic of Self-Care, creating a forum to grow and network in our local community. We believe that by learning and growing together, we can create a community that is more informed and more energized about education, and the work we do for each of our students and clients.
This workshop is an experiential breakfast for professionals to practice some techniques to improve their daily self-care. Using a writing experience, a guided laughter meditation and sharing with others to make a personal Self-Care Treatment Plan, participants will leave with hands-on tools and suggestions to improve their day to day self-care and reduce burn out.
Breakfast is provided. Please bring your business card for a chance to win a luxury massage at Hand and Stone, and any promotional items you’d like to share for our resource table.
Qualified professionals will receive 1 CEU. This will be an intermediate instruction level.
8:30am-9:30am: Check in and networking reception. Bring your marketing materials to share at resource table
Robin Hornstein, Ph.D., Psychologist,
Clinical Director and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach
Robin Hornstein, Ph.D. is the Clinical Director and co-owner of Hornstein, Platt and Associates, LLC, a counseling and wellness based private practice with 12 locations throughout Philadelphia, the Main Line and Bucks County. A practitioner and educator, Robin provides therapy, supervision and trainings. She has worked with those living with Eating Disorders, Addiction, Grief and Infertility in addition to a general practice. Women and the LGBTQI community are a particular focus of Robin’s work. Considering herself an ever evolving Intersectional, Feminist Therapist, Robin has spent time developing her focus on the whole person with a strong focus on outside forces that shape someone’s identity. In the final edits of a book for providers new to the field of ED, Robin is hoping to share her ideas about the treatment of a variety of presentations of Body Image and Eating Disorders. Supervising other therapists is also a passion of Robin’s and her goal is to focus not only on cases but on self-care for the provider. A practitioner of Meditation and Yoga, Robin believes therapists need to practice self-care on a daily basis to remain in the trenches of this work.
