Samantha Ahwah


Samantha is a professional fine artist in the DC Metropolitan area and a Master of Arts in Art Therapy candidate at The George Washington University. She is a native of Southern Maryland.  She attended Bowie State University, Maryland’s oldest historically black university, and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in studio art and double minored in Psychology and Spanish Language.  Throughout her educational and professional career, Samantha has worked with local arts based community groups and organizations.  She has worked in after school programs, public schools, specialized summer camps, and psychiatric settings.  At Fusion, she is an art, Spanish, and Wellness teacher/mentor.

Samantha is an award winning printmaker, painter, and photographer who specializes in botanical art. Samantha’s favorite artists are Georgia O’Keefee, Matisse, Frida Kahlo, and van Gogh.  When not surrounded with her art supplies, Samantha enjoys reading novels, going to theatre productions, and hanging out with her Boston Terrier, Oberyn.
