As the Regional Director of Operations, Sarah supports school leadership teams across California through providing training and operational support on all Fusion systems, policies, and procedures. Previous to this role, as the Assistant Director at the Marin campus, Sarah supported student learning from many different angles. She was the anchor in teacher training and provided academic support for students and families. Sarah also enjoyed her time serving as the Director of Student Development and Director of First Impressions, in addition to being an inaugural English and Art teacher at the Marin campus which opened in 2013.
It was this passion for arts education that originally drew Sarah to the Bay Area from her hometown in Ontario, Canada. Before relocating to San Francisco, Sarah earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in English Language and Literature from the University of Western Ontario. Her love of learning and aspiration to teach led Sarah to the dual-degree graduate program at the San Francisco Art Institute where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and a Master of Arts in History and Theory of Contemporary Art. In addition to working with the SFMoMA and being a studio instructor for SFAI’s Young Artist Program, Sarah was proud to hold the title of the Academic Support Center Coordinator where she managed the support services for the University. It was in this role, working with academic tutors and their students, that Sarah discovered her love of the one-to-one teaching and mentorship model.
Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and friends all over California and Canada! She loves to travel and explore the food, music and art that each city has to offer. She and her husband love to take in hockey games and visit ballparks all over the US and Canada- especially when their home teams compete against each other! Sarah loves calling the Bay Area her home and is thrilled to be working at Fusion, a place that celebrates her colorful outfits and silly jokes!
