What are classes-for-credit?
These are college-preparatory, for-credit classes offered to students not attending the
full-time Fusion Academy. Courses are accepted as transferred units
by most high schools. Upon successful completion of a class, transcripts
are automatically delivered to the student's school of choice. Students
can complete an entire year of a course in one semester or summer (with a maximum of
three classes taken at one time). Pretty much any
class at Fusion can be taken as a class-for-credit: academics, art, music, yoga—just ask!
Learning one-to-one
All classes are taught
one-to-one; learning happens at the student's pace. In addition to working
individually with the teacher, the student is required to complete
approximately two to four hours of homework between sessions, which will be modified to accommodate the student's learning style. Fusion uses the
Mastery Learning Method to ensure that all students understand the
material studied at a minimum 70-percent mastery level. Because classes
are taught on a one-on-one basis, students can begin class at
any time of the year.
