Fusion Learning Center is so much more than a traditional tutoring center—with more individual attention, more flexibility, and more options.
Five advantages of Fusion Learning Center:
- Our one-to-one ratio and mentoring approach to learning allows for every session to be customized to the individual student’s needs, interests, and learning style.
- Every tutor is also a teacher, with a bachelor's degree or higher, and knows what your child needs to learn to succeed.
- There are no set tutoring "packages," rather the quantity and frequency of tutoring sessions is determined on an individual basis.
- Tutoring sessions are offered any time of day, not just after school, to meet the scheduling demands of each student.
- In addition to standard- and honors-level academic tutoring, we offer SAT/ACT test prep and enrichment classes in art, music, yoga, and more!
English and Writing - overview
With Fusion’s one-to-one teaching model, every English course is completely tailored to how you learn best and what your interests are.
In selecting reading material, the teacher will carefully choose pieces that best reflect your interests. For example, if you are into comic books and are enrolled in English 9, the teacher can have you read the comic book version of Romeo and Juliet instead of the traditional text. Novels can also be adjusted to your interests and ability level so long as they meet the state standards.
These classes are discussion-based, so the teacher will ensure that you are mastering the reading material and are set up for success before being asked to complete major writing assignments. One-to-one teaching allows the teacher to meet you at your current writing abilities to improve both analytical and creative writing skills. The teacher can also provide reading comprehension or analysis support based on which learning modality works best for you. Students who suffer from multiple LDs or processing issues can have notes pre-made for them.
For students who struggle with short-term retention, a lesser number of vocabulary words can be assigned at a time. Teachers can also cross-collaborate with other subject areas of interest to show how multiple skills overlap outside of the classroom.
