Fusion Learning Center offers a variety of enrichment classes that give students the opportunity to try something new, polish a skill, or just have fun.
As with all of our offerings, our art, music, and yoga classes are taught completely one-to-one. Classes are offered year round, scheduling is flexible, and students can choose to take as many or as few classes per week as they'd like. These classes can be taken for transferable school credit, or just for fun.
Fusion Learning Center is equipped with a state-of-the-art recording studio where all of our music and recording arts sessions take place. Students can explore their vocal range, learn how to edit tracks with Pro Tools software, and jam out on the guitar—all at their own pace. Our teachers respect students' musical preferences while helping them to expand their repertoire.
Music courses allow students to discover and build knowledge based on experience, individualized participation, research, and creative learning analysis. Project-based learning is at the core, emphasized by real-world projects and real-world applications. Our approach and philosophy to teaching and learning is constructive in nature. Learning is student-centered, therefore the learning environment will be created to foster the development of skills and the application of active-learning, self-discipline, and time management.
Music 7 will build on the skills learned in Music 6.

Students spend the semester in guided practice and study of the bass guitar. New students to the instrument are introduced to the fundamentals of how to play, and practice applying those skills to play songs they enjoy. More experienced students are given the opportunity to continue building their skills and technique under the guidance of the instructor. The course covers standard notation, tablature, and chart reading as well as the identification of note names, key signatures, time signatures, and rhythms. Ear training will include recognizing intervals and chords, sight singing, and rhythmic and melodic dictation, by way of interactive software. While building these important fundamentals, courses of study are always focused on the individual musical interests of each student.
The Bass II course is designed to give the bass student a more in-depth grasp of the concepts of music relating to playing the bass. Additionally, the course will continue to familiarize students with the fundamentals of sight reading and ear training for the application of the bass guitar. The course covers standard notation, tablature, and chart reading as well as the identification of note names, key signatures, time signatures, and rhythms.
This course is designed to give a beginning drum student a solid grasp of the basic concepts of music relating to drums. A complete overview of the instrument will be taught. The student will be given the opportunity to read standard and tablature notation, learning rudiments and essential drum set rhythms. Rhythm patterns will be taught covering a wide variety of music styles. A study of music composition, both historical and cultural, is also covered.
This is a second-level drum course designed to give a drum student a more in-depth grasp of the concepts of music relating to drums. A complete overview of the instrument will be taught. The student will be given the opportunity to read standard and tablature notation, learning rudiments and essential drum set rhythms. Rhythm patterns will be taught covering a wide variety of music styles. A study of music composition, both historical and cultural, is also covered.
This course is designed to give a beginning guitar student a solid grasp of the basic concepts of music relating to guitar. A complete overview of the instrument will be taught, including care and maintenance. The student will be given the opportunity to read both standard and tablature notation, learning both chord and scale formulas. Rhythm patterns will be taught covering a wide variety of music styles. A study of music composition, both historical and cultural, is also covered.
This course is designed to give an advanced guitar student a solid grasp of the basic concepts of music relating to guitar. A complete overview of the instrument will be taught, including care and maintenance. The student will be given the opportunity to read both standard and tablature notation, learning both chord and scale formulas. Rhythm patterns will be taught covering a wide variety of music styles. A study of music composition, both historical and cultural, is also covered.
This course will take the student into the theoretical concepts of harmony. Coursework includes a complete study of intervals, chord construction, chord voicing, harmonized scales, and modes of the major, melodic minor, harmonic minor, and diminished scales emphasizing instrumental application. A deep study of Gregorian Chants and 1st_4th species counterpoint is included. This class will rely on composition and interactive software. Atonal and impressionist music will be addressed, as well as contemporary.
Music Theory Honors includes all of the features of the standard level course, but studies the material at a deeper level.
Students of this course study the science and mechanics of digital recording. This course lays theoretical groundwork in acoustics and the relationship to electronic equipment used in the recording industry. Students learn basic recording and editing techniques while developing critical listening and viewing skills. This application class provides the student with an in-depth introduction to audio equipment and techniques. The course equips students with the fundamental concepts and terminology necessary to pursue a career in the recording arts, and to establish a foundation for higher-level courses in the audio programs. Topics include basic studio procedures, equipment design, and proper use, in addition to multi-track recording techniques and working creatively with digital audio workstations like ProTools.
Students continue a deeper study of the science and mechanics of digital recording. The course will continue to equip students with the fundamental concepts and terminology necessary to pursue a career in the recording arts, and to establish a foundation for higher-level courses in the audio programs. This course covers the elements of singing, addressing the specific needs of singers of popular music. It is intended for singers of all levels who want to improve their stamina, increase their range, develop a better sound, and enhance their overall vocal health. In this course, students will study techniques to help them understand and develop their voice by describing the basic elements of their instrument and teaching how to practice. The course helps students to understand the physical aspects of singing, master them, and expand this mastery of the details to a more holistic technical and musical whole.
Whether your student is interested in photography, sculpture, graphic design, or painting, we have a class that will satisfy his or her inner artist. Classes are held in our private art studio, where students have the freedom to choose which types of projects they want to work on.
Art 6 is an introductory art course. It lays the foundation for art appreciation and production skills through hands-on projects and narrative lessons. Students participate in and are exposed to the elements and principles of art, techniques, art history, and criticism.

This course covers the history of art from ancient to modern time. Focus is given on how to view and talk about art using the appropriate terms and vocabulary.
Digital Photography is a course designed to provide the student with a basic foundation of the artistic qualities and applications of photography as an expressive medium. Within this class, students will become familiar with the more complex terminology and elements of photography including: principles of design and composition, photographic imaging equipment, materials, methods, and processes.

The purpose of this Graphic Design course is to give students an understanding of the powerful role graphic design plays in shaping the way we see the world. The course will instruct students in the language, elements, and practice of graphic design. Students will leave the course with an appreciation for the historical significance, as well as modern usage, of graphic design, as well as the tools to create their own unique design pieces.
This course is designed to give the student a solid foundation in the art and application of photography. An overview of the camera will be taught including care and maintenance. Our private yoga classes help students clear their minds as they strengthen their bodies. In a one-to-one environment, students learn poses at their own pace, whether they are new to yoga or more advanced. They're excellent class for relaxing, recharging, and having fun.
This course is designed to introduce students, safely and accessibly, to the basic postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods of yoga. Students will begin to experience the benefits of stretching, moving, and breathing freely as they relieve built-up stress, learn to relax, and ultimately get more out of day to-day life. The aim of this course is to promote vibrant health and to tap the body's latent energy reserves.
This course is an advanced course designed to allow students to perform basic, intermediate, and advanced postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods of yoga. This course will build on the skills learned in Yoga II.

This course covers the fundamentals of acting on stage. Most major assignments will be performing prepared scenes.
Animation production will teach students fundamentals. Students
will be introduced to the history and importance of animation to popular
culture. The course will then guide learners through the
fundamentals of character development, story narrative, scriptwriting, storyboarding,

This course covers the basics of drama. You will learn about the actual performance and the backstage work that it takes to make a play happen on the stage.
This course covers the basics of screenwriting. You will produce both a rough and a final draft of an actual screenplay.
This is a two semester elective course. The purpose of Theatre Appreciation is to increase student understanding, critical analysis skills, and appreciation of stage productions. Students will gain knowledge of the history of theatre, learn about the technical components of a production, and study major modern and classic playwrights and composers. Students are required to attend three productions during each semester of this course and participate in thoughtful discussions about the production. In addition, students write short reports and make presentations throughout the year.
