Arts and music programs
Creative expression is at the forefront of Fusion's arts and music programs. From studio art to performing art, music theory to recording, our students are encouraged to explore the
range of their creative interests. While other schools and districts are slashing their funds for these programs, Fusion’s continue to grow as a result of our wholehearted belief that art and music are integral to the development of the whole child.
Music education
The statistics in favor of musical education are vast, and we have
seen firsthand what music education can do for a child. We have
witnessed music turn a struggling student into an achiever. We have
seen a child’s self-esteem grow when feelings are allowed to flow
through an instrument. We have seen depression and anxiety disappear in
a student who was given a guitar. For these reasons, and many more, our music department continues to grow.
Studio art
Our students flourish in a creative environment, and often “find themselves” when exploring the various means of artistic self-expression. Students are free to explore a variety of mediums and materials in our student art studio, and are encouraged to express themselves while learning the fundamentals of art in all its aspects.
The studio art course meets all state standards and requirements for high school visual/performing arts. Students will develop a foundation for art appreciation and production skills through hands-on projects and narrative lessons, and are exposed to the elements and principles of art technique, history, and criticism.
Other artistic opportunities for students include performing arts, film, and photography, depending on your child's campus.
We offer the following subjects for both private lessons and for-credit classes, taught from the beginner to the advanced/performance level:
Guitar
Jazz Performance
Recording Arts
Drums
Music Theory and Composition
Piano
Bass
Performing Arts (Band)
Voice
Music performance
Fusion’s philosophy for music education is performance based. While theory and technique are stressed on a daily basis, we believe that all students want to learn to PLAY, and they want to learn to play NOW! Fusion honors the musical tastes of each student, and personalizes each class to reflect the unique talents of the student. Private lessons are one hour, and courses for high school credit meet all state standards.
Fusion has a performance-based band consisting of guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and recording. Fusion Band meets weekly for rehearsals, and plays a variety of music from jazz to rock, R&B to the blues. Fusion Band is taken very seriously by our students, and a professional-grade CD is the culmination of their efforts, celebrated by a CD release party annually! Auditions are held throughout the year.
Recording arts
We are committed to our students’ musical talents and ambitions. To support them in their training, we offer a full professional recording studio complete with high-quality microphones and instruments, as well as professional-grade software required to record and create a quality CD.
Students who learn recording arts are educated in the use of the latest technology pertaining to the recording world. They work on Pro Tools—industry-standard computer software—and learn professional recording, editing, and mixing techniques. There is also a full MIDI lab with software for film scoring and other audio use.

Music instructors
Our music faculty is comprised of instructors who are professional musicians. Each has played in various projects all over the country. They have extensive educational training, as well first-hand, real-world experience. Fusion wants only the best for your children, and we believe that music makes all of us better people and more in harmony with the world around us. We value the self-expression and academic improvement that a music education can provide, and are dedicated to maintaining the highest-quality musical experiences available. Rock on!
All of this creates an experience unmatched by any school in the country. And best of all, it works.

“You took two children who were completely drowning in the public school system and feeling like such failures even though they wanted to do good, and you all counseled and prepared them until they were ready to live out their dreams.”Heather J., Fusion Academy Parent
